Henri Pittier's Park is Venezuela's oldest National Park stretching from the Caribbean coast in the north, across the lush mountains and then south, almost to the agricultural city of Maracay. In a relatively small area (600 sq., miles \ 1000 sq. kil. ), a diverse animal world awaits you, including; monkeys, deer, tapirs, armadillos, ocelots, foxes, frogs, and an a incredible variety of birds. Nearly 600 species of birds have been identified in the park, which represents over 40% of the known bird species in Venezuela more variety then either Europe or all of the United States, or 7% of all the known birds species in the entire world.

Awaken every morning to the plentiful parakeets as they caw while flying from flowered tree to tree. The park's diversity in animal and plant life may be unmatched in the world.
